It's also still the Nav unit available in the Viper.

Yep this is one unbelievable Chrysler money-saving option :-)

The "antique" RB1 appeared in chrysler products through 2007.Ihave one in my 2006 T&C as well as my sister in her 2007.

For any further questions please contact Chrysler and ask them why they put Navi unit, introduced 7 years ago into your vehicle :-)
Especially since they had 2 newer generation Navi units at that moment.

duh, it's obvious.  RB1 is the only chrysler nav unit that works w/ the PCI bus
REC is the only one that works w/ its car bus.
MyGIG works with the 2 newer buses.

"car bus"?
Both REC/REJ and MyGig work on slow and newer versions of MyGig on fast CAN bus.
Please tell us something we don't know :-)
This all is way off topic anyway.

The reason I bring it up is that by your definition the reader would not understand what his radio is.  He asked what the difference between radios, and you gave him them in a chronological order as if the RB1 was used in 2000 and then the others were used after.  Try helping him out as to what radio he has and what hack he needs rather than telling him what years the radios were developed.

I'd be happy to wrap up the work with the REC model if I could get my hands on a AI disc.. Also, I could keep the torrent alive and spread to the point where it will sustain out on its own. (Most likely for a while, hell I still seed the orig AG, AF, and even AE torrents at times for people)

Anyway, get a hold of me via PM if you think you can help me out.  Cool

I was wondering why the December version 05064033AI still did not surface you know where for 4th month in a row.
Did some basic search on ebay - the answer was simple.
A couple of guys are trying hard to make fast cash selling it!

Why use torrents anyway!?  The download speeds are so slow.  Why not use a news service where download speeds reach 2Mbps?  instead of 30-50kbps.?  Torrents are sooooo out of date.

I have a usenet account, so think its a good idea (and today most pay for usenet providers will make it accessible a year+ from now).  With that said, most people here probably don't have usenet.

Ditto on the Usenet account,  been using them for years.  Torrents are just a little more wide spread and helps spread the load out across a few people.

My ratio on the AG disc torrent is 1750+!!! LOL

I don't really know what are you taking about. I'm getting an average of 1-2.5 Mbps on my downloads.
Sounds like your ISP speed is sooooo out of date!
You might check whith your provider to see whether he limits you D/L speed or someone is using your line to watch video or whatever.

don't think this is the forum to discuss the benefits of torrents vs. usenet.  they each have their pluses and minuses, those of us who use usenet probably use torrents as well from time to time.

with that said, it appears no one besides hatax is really interested in sharing anything, so not much to do.

I removed post the posts regarding where to get it, please kept personal attacks off the board.

as far as no hack for the AI.

Vindes is the one that hacked it, he is the one that knows what needs to be addressed to make the hack possible, and until or IF he releases it, there is nothing anyone else can do..

as far as getting a copy of AI, there are no torrents with it that I am aware of, and seeing as several LX owners over the past 2 years have gotten Cease and Desist orders from Navteq and/or Chrysler I suggest you guys keep any info about such things in PM or email

Good advice incredible...

I don't think it's a good idea for anyone to host these files personally, it's a big source of revenue for Chrysler and Navteq.  And honestly if you think about it, it's their ONLY incentive to continue to release updated maps for nav units they made nearly 6 years ago.  If it becomes to widely spread, no one will pay for the updates, and we won't see any more maps come out.

That being said, I think this group of people here are the smaller minority of REC / RB1 equipped vehicles and as such if it is kept on a person to person basis there won't be much trouble.  Also, others here are the ones that have helped contribute to "the cause" and some would argue that they are somewhat entitled to it.  Honestly, I'd have a tough time paying $100 for the disc, only to spend numerous more hours re-working the cracks.  It's an easier pill to swallow if you're helping others with a project and the only investment is time.  Grin

Also, as I've said before, I'd be happy to apply all the hacks to the AI image once I get my hands on it.

Vindes, the race is on to see who can lose some nights of sleep first!  So much fun to be had sifting through thousands of lines of disassembled code.....  Cheesy
