Hey folks...Just an update.

i have an RB1 as mentioned above. I did the hack mentioned on page 1 of this thread with memorex purple dl's (thats what I had) and I now have the clock when the unit's turned off but thats as far as I got. The in-motion part hasn't been fixed. Any advice or advancements?

Thanks

Gabe

Gabe,

The hack only works if you already have the AE version of the navigation disc or upgrade to the AE version of the navigation disc.

OK guys?
Hi there, couldn't help but add in my findings on a Euro car.

I collected my car with thew AD version disc, a few weeks later my wif collected a brand new Jeep GrandC with Mmmmm theE disc, it had the new local motorway on that mine didn't, so I figured that I would see if I could "borrow" the disc, I did inserted it and thge system updated and BINGO, however my wife did want the AE back as the AD would not work in her system,,,,,,,,,,or mine! OH Sh1t!!!
I thought I would buy some DL discs and got Verbatim -R that worked a treat. However my point in this post is that I did not know of this patch or anything else till today but VOILA! I can have my passenger mod the destination on the move without carrying out the patches.
Not sure if this is down to Euro or not but I am NOT complaining.

Big quessie, can we avoid the press enter press cancel thing yet?

I was all set and ready to hack away but then I found out that I only have NAV version AC.  Cry
I'm not who is up on doing any favors for strangers but does anyone have an extra hacked DVD laying around.
I'm really not looking forward to drop the $200 for a factory DVD that doesn't have any updates for my area.
BTW... I'm in Sacramento if anyone is local.
Thanks ahead of time

I'm in the process of burning my patched AE disk now.  Is there any chance of getting a fix for the "Press Enter" window that comes up on power-on?  I do have a hex editor and I'm not afraid to use it if its easier to just post the jump instruction and loc for main.apn.

I would imagine that getting the "In-Motion" hack to work with the newer AF version of the navigation software will require some newer form of program modification that is not contained in this particular hack.
I recently installed the new AF version software. I imagine that someone will eventually write a patch to allow for that software to bypass the "in-motion" restrictions.

It will.  AF updates to app ver 2.06.00 and wipes out the in-motion hacked version that you may have previously loaded.

Indeed.  The big question is when.  I havent seen a post from anyone with the skills to complete such a hack saying that they are working on it yet.  Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Vindes hasn't been online in quite awhile, he is the master of the first hack..

I have PM'd and offered him a copy of my AF disc, both here and on LXF, with no response.

I do recall him saying awhile back that work was kicking his butt or something to that effect, so perhaps he just doesn't have the time.

I have compared the AE hacked Main.apn and the AE Oem Main.apn so I know what he changed and where in AE.

but I am no binary programmer, and there are about 400 changes in AF, so I don't even know where to begin to look and find the AE hacked lines...

Yeah - I checked, and he hasn't been logged into this forum in a couple of weeks.

That is certainly understandable.  I'm hopeful that he'll have the time and/or desire to take a look sometime soon.

That being said, I'd be willing to kick in some cash ($100) to give an incentive to someone to not only hack the in-motion, but to also kill that damn nag screen.  Maybe if a few people would pledge some cash, it would make it a little more worthwhile for someone to invest their time & effort into creating the hacks.  With the move to MyGIG, I'm going to guess that AF is the last update we'll see for the REC's.

Any details of the specific skill set(s) that might be required to complete the hacks?

I just wanted to thank everyone involved with this hack. I have a 2007 Plum Crazy Daytona and it had the newer software version 2.05.10. I was able to walk through the instructions without a hitch. I incremented the version number to .11 and then burned the .iso file to a dl DVD. Everything updated perfectly and now it works like a charm.

Thanks again to everyone, and looking foward to someone figuring out how to get rid of the startup prompt. Good work guys!!!!

Hi guys, I'm still alive.

I'll take a look at the AF code as soon as I get a bit of time.  Last six months have just been crazy busy between work and stuff at home.  One thing to be sure of is I hate the motion limitations as much as anyone.

Anything on the MyGig System yet, or still too new and different from your previous work...  I'd like to help but need a little direction... what programs do you use to decompile, or do you just read machine language... it is lots of code to look through... Don't know what to look for... Tips appreciated.

I am in the same sitiation with the EXT. Just installed the Nav TV cable and the nav works in motion. Also the Ipod adapter from Peripheral Elec. Ipod works on the touch screen.
