Vindes (and everyone else who contributed to this thread),

This hack worked flawlessly first time for me last evening on my wife's '07 300 Touring. (EXCEPT for the @%$%^ little latch on the DVD door).

I really appreciate all the effort that has gone into the hack, not to mention the effort to answer all the posts about it.   Cry

NOW, all I need is a hack to remove the NAG screen on NAV startup. Puhleeeezzze!! Kiss

Thanks again,

Rod

My 2006 Charger (June 06 production date) came with an old version of the Nav disc.  Sounds like you have the same.

Somehow you're going to have to get your hands on the AE version if you want to apply the hack.  You could buy one from NavTeq, or if you're ethically flexible try to find an active torrent or somebody that will share theirs with you.

I'm trying to apply the patch to a european version of the NAV-disc that came with my Jeep-07.
My folders are called ZH3FF and ZH300 (!?), and the patch will not apply. Instead I get the error message "Main File Data Integrety (CRC) Error".

Is there a way around this?
Appreciate your help since I'm a novice.

The patch will not work with the European versions.  The programming is different.

But for the 06 LX vehicles there were no in-motion limitations in the European version.  Are there actually in-motion programming limitations on your Jeep?  That's very surprising if there are.

That's a little tricky because you need to fake CANbus messages to the Nav unit.

Sgt.Stank and I'm sure a few other people have done it...  I thought we had a thread on that somewhere in the forum...

Without a considerable amount of (more) work, its tough to wake JUST the radio.

Why would you even want to do this ?

Vindes or anyone who can help,

Why can't  I  burn a second functional copy of my AE In-Motion hacked DVD-ROM...   Three attempts so far with the burn process being successful.  However, I receive Disc Error when the burned copy disc is  placed in my Rec Navi Unit.  I have copied my working disc contents to my hard drive (.iso image)  using UltraISO.   I have use DVD Decrypter and UltraISO in attemps to burn a second DVD copy of my working AE In-Motion hacked version.   3 coasters are the result.  Disc Error all three times up to this point.  DVD Decrypter is bittype is set to DVD-ROM at 2.4X.  I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL 8X.   What am I doing wrong?

Do I have to download the AE torrent file and start from scratch?   Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Is there a version modification I need to make prior to burning the disc?

Very odd.  Two thoughts -

First, try reading the discs on your PC and make sure the directory structure looks right.  Seems unlikely, but could be something goofy with the iso and you're burning good images of a bad iso.

Second thought, Verbatim now makes their DVD+R DL discs in two different places.  The original factory is Singapore, and those are the high quality discs.  They've recently added an India plant, and the quality of those discs sucks.  So it's no longer safe to just make the blanket assumption that Verbatim DL discs are the best.

I no longer buy Verbatim's mail order, since it's impossible to know in advance which discs they're going to send you.  I've started getting mine from Best Buy.  Every couple months they'll have a sale on the 20 packs for $29.99 (normally $49.99 at Best Buy).  I just went in and cleaned out two of the local stores of their Made in Singapore supply and left all the Made in India crap there.  Fortunately it says right on the package label where they were made.

OK.  This is what I have.  Verbatim DVD + R DL 8x max write speed.  The discs were manufactured in Singapore.  I just burned another coaster with DVD Decrypter.   This is what my files look like.  The disc appears to load, but hangs on the loading screen then goes to disc error. Check DVD-ROM.  How would I identify a corrupt file?  The number of files appear to be correct.

I know this thread has been around a long time so please excuse this question, but has anyone been able to get rid of the start up screen and go straight to the map when the car first starts up.

And if not, does anyone have a link to download the already hacked ISO to just down load and burn?  Would like to get my 07 charger set up so my wife can serach for places while I'm driving. Car came with AD version so I should have no problems going up to AE.  Unless someone near Nashville has an extra copy of a burned DVD. (wow that would be nice)

I just got the AE, I am going to apply the hack tonight. I have two questions:

1. Will this work if I already have AE on my REC? I want to try the disc before I apply the hack.

2. Will this work on my wifes 04 Pacifica?

Thanks,

Adam

Anyone have any luck with just burning an exact copy of a working AE disc with the in-motion hack applied?  I don't have a download of the AE torrent.

Has anyone made a successful back up of their NavTech DVD-ROM navigation disc? If so, what software did you use, what type media did you use (DVD+R DL brand), and what are the steps to do this successfully?

I'm unable to complete a successful DVD burn. My DVD combo drive has the proper firmware to burn DL discs. I've made three unsuccessful attempts with UltraISO and DVD Decrypter.

Any help would be appreciated.
